FAQ

When should I book my cruise?

It all depends on where in the world you are visiting. It's better to book your cruise earlier than later because you have more flexibility on dates. Plan your cruise around dates you know are best, such as if you plan to travel to Europe in summer. On the other hand, if you are going to Asia or South America, you might want to book your cruise later to avoid high season prices.

What does cruising look like?

When you book a cruise, you pay a deposit (usually $50-$100) when you reserve your cabin. Your balance is due 30 days before departure. Check in at your cabin upon arrival at the port. You might then be able to take part in an onboard activity.

These 4 factors determine the price of a cruise.

The main factors that affect the cost of a cruise are how long you'd like to stay on board, whether an all-inclusive package is preferred, how many people will be traveling with you, and which type of cabin you book.

Are cruise ships safe?

Yes, cruise ships offer safe travel. The majority of cruise ships are outfitted with the most advanced technology and security systems. The safety regulations for cruise ships are very strict. Crew members receive extensive training and must pass background check. Onboard, passengers undergo background checks. Some cruise lines require passengers with certain diseases to present proof of their vaccinations. Contact the customer service department of your cruise line immediately if you have any concerns about your safety onboard.

Which type of cabin should I choose?

It is important to consider the space you require when you choose a cabin. Are you okay sharing a bath with another person? Would you prefer a private bathroom? Do you find noise essential? Is it important to you that you spend more time in the stateroom or the dining area? Consider whether you would prefer an interior or balcony view. Balconies are a bit more spacious, but can sometimes be loud. Interior views are typically quieter then balconies.

How long does it take for you to get to port?

The time it takes to reach the port depends on several factors, including the distance between the port and the ship, the speed at which the ship travels, etc. It is important to note that some ships dock very close to shore so they can quickly unload their passengers. It takes longer for ships to arrive at land because some ship dock closer to the coast.

How do you plan your first Cruise vacation?

Planning a cruise is like planning any trip; there are many things to consider, such as where to go, what activities to include, budgeting, etc. If you're new at cruising, there are key differences in planning your first cruise. You won't want anything to miss because cruises are typically longer than land vacations (upto 3 weeks). Here are some tips to make this vacation even more easy:

  1. Start early - Book your cruise at least 6 months before departure. This allows you to save money and avoid crowds. Additionally, you will have ample time for research on the ship, itinerary and ports as well as activities. You may even be able to find a bargain on airfare.
  2. Choose a destination - It doesn't matter which port you choose; just pick one that appeals to you. There are many reasons that people love to cruising to other destinations. Some enjoy exploring cities while others prefer relaxing on board. Whatever floats your boat, just remember to keep in mind the type of destination you'd like to visit. An island in the Caribbean is a popular choice, closely followed by Europe and Alaska.
  3. Booking a suite is an option. Suites offer extra space, a private balcony, and additional amenities. These suites can usually be booked for $100-$300 per person, depending on their size and availability during your sailing date.
  4. Make sure to check the weather forecast. Cruising often is associated with tropical climates. Don't forget about checking the weather forecasts when you visit ports. You should be aware of the potential dangers from the ocean, especially in Antarctica and Alaska.
  5. Take only 10 things on your cruise. That means no suitcases full of clothes or shoes! Pack everything in small bags that you can carry on. Layer clothing, as you won't be able wash it at all on board.
  6. Do your research. Before you buy tickets, make sure to read online reviews. It is important to understand what their cancellation policies are, as well as the pricing policies.
  7. Do not miss these must see spots. Visit each port at minimum once. Each area has its own charms and culture so you should take advantage of every opportunity.
